As we head into the New Year, the Ray Munn Kitchens’ team turns its attention to the industry trends likely to dominate the next 12 months.

Going for Bold

In 2024, plenty of homeowners will go for bold (textures and prints) when it comes to their kitchen. That’s right; while muted colourways and warming palettes still reign supreme, vibrant shades are also peeping into view.

In this trend-focused piece by House Beautiful, the National Kitchen and Bath Association says green, in particular, will be big news.

‘From calming sage to power-packed emerald, green isn't going anywhere. Green is easy to incorporate into your kitchen's colour scheme and has the ability to make kitchen cabinets sing’, states the piece.

It isn’t all or nothing with bolder colours, though. While you can be confident and make a strong shade central to your vision, you could instead opt for smaller pops of colour in your space. Swap and change accessories in shades such as olive green, sage and even forest green, adding crockery in your favourite hues or selecting a statement vase for your island or dining table, for example.

Tech Takeover

Tech is key in the kitchen of the future, with appliances that make keen cooks’ lives easier in the kitchen very much a priority for homeowners in 2024.

Expect all kinds of life-changing innovations in the world of smart tech; appliances aren’t just sleek, functional, and primed for seamless integration in your kitchen. They can slash time spent preparing and heating food and generally ensure cooking is a breeze.

Forbes rounds up some key kitchen innovations for the coming years, which are guaranteed to sit at the top of plenty of kitchen renovation wish lists – watch this space. A fridge that offers recipe suggestions? Yes, please!

It’s All About the Detail

Traditional kitchen design

In terms of kitchen design, the ‘larger’ considerations – the cabinetry and the appliances, for instance – are key. In 2024, though, it’s all about the finer details within the hub of your home, too.

Consider the finishes you select for your kitchen, from the handles to your carefully selected cupboards (and even the taps that are set to sit over the kitchen sink).

Get these often-overlooked elements right, and you’ll elevate your kitchen even further – why not chat with us about your kitchen cabinetry, appliances, and all the little details in between?

Don’t underestimate, too, the importance of the right lighting in your space. When investing in a new kitchen, you’ll want to ensure it’s well and truly in the spotlight. You can do this via stylish pendant lamps or under-cabinet lighting, ensuring your central island, dining table, or cabinetry comes to life.

Are you ready to overhaul your kitchen in 2024? We’re keen to discuss the big design trends with you – and how they’ll complement your vision for your own space. Get in touch with our friendly and dedicated team and we’ll go from there.
