On your marks, get set, bake!

Last night saw the return of The Great British Bake Off, and of course the phrase ‘On your marks, get set, bake!’ which is now so synonymous with the show!

In its twelfth series, and with 12 amateur bakers all hoping to take the accolade of winning, this series promises to be as popular as ever! There was the usual banter, along with a lookalike Prue Leith in the form of contestant Maggie, who has been baking for over 40 years! Like so many other hobbies that people turned to at the beginning of 2020, baking remains a firm favourite pastime for older generations through to Generation Z’s.

Whilst many wannabe chefs and bakers have had to ‘make do’ with a far from adequate kitchen since discovering their love of cooking, 2020 saw a 25% increase in the sales of kitchen appliances. Now that life is nearly ‘back to normal’ and with many people choosing to staycation rather than travel abroad, people are opting to add value to their homes instead of taking a holiday, frequently by investing in having a new and better planned kitchen.

But what makes a kitchen really well planned?

At Ray Munn Kitchens we not only specialise in exceptional kitchen design, we specialise in creating bespoke kitchen designs, tailored to the finite requirements and exacting details that our discerning clients and customers require.

Unlike many showrooms, Ray Munn Kitchens offers both handcrafted, British made kitchens, handcrafted here in England, and contemporary Italian kitchens, oozing with the style and flair that the Italian designers have!

So, whether your baking preference is for a Victoria Sandwich or Sicilian Cannoli, you’re sure to have a ‘better bake’ if you love your kitchens’ style!

Unless your budget and plans include building works, your kitchen will have to be fundamentally designed around its current footprint. However, rather than plan your new kitchen based on its current layout, at Ray Munn Kitchens we take a fresh approach to its new overall layout.

Have you got space for an island?

A freestanding island unit is a great addition to a new kitchen layout, but to effectively work, it does require plenty of surrounding space, and it’ll be an area that people will naturally migrate towards, so you’ll be sure to have company whilst enjoying baking.

Kitchen Equipment Storage

A home for every gadget!

Undeniably, most hobbies have gadgets and baking is no exception! From must have branded mixers, to food processors that simplify cooking chores, any equipment must have a considered place in which to store it… After all, a clutter free kitchen is bound to both look aesthetically better and generally be a better place in which to bake or cook!

You can never have too much workspace!

“I’ve got too much worksurface” said no chef or baker ever! Used for a multitude of purposes including mixing, kneading, prepping and serving, no matter how much worksurface your kitchen has, you’ll always be wanting more!

Which appliance is best?

With so many appliances to choose from, knowing which one is right for you can be a mind field. At Ray Munn Kitchens we will always endeavour to offer you impartial advice as to the best appliances currently available.

Choose quality!

Investing in a new kitchen is likely to be one of the main expenses that you spend on your home, so it’s important to choose a premium quality kitchen that’s designed to last and look as good in years to come as it does today!

Add value to your property!

Did you know that a well planned kitchen can actually add more value than just the outlay to the overall value of your home?

A place to eat cake!

As kitchens have become sociable spaces rather than functional areas, you may opt to have a dedicated seating area seamlessly incorporated into your new kitchen layout – after all, you’ll need a place to sit back and sample your latest bake!

DINING ISLANDS

Don’t let your current kitchen be the reason you’ve got a ‘soggy bottom!’ as with a little help from Ray Munn Kitchens you’re sure to become ‘star baker’ instead!
